Questions
Roofing Questions
Still have a question? Call (786) 881-3081 or email sales@avraxdevelopments.com — se habla español. We answer Mon–Fri 8am–5pm and Sat 9am–3pm.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof?
Typically, yes. In Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, a roof replacement generally requires a building permit and inspections. We pull the permit and coordinate the inspections through final approval.
Should I repair my roof or replace it?
It depends on the roof's condition and how much of it is damaged. On the free estimate visit we look at the roof, explain what we find and talk through repair and replacement options. Your written proposal prices the work line by line.
What does "built to Florida code" mean for my roof?
The Florida Building Code sets statewide rules for how roofs are built and attached. Miami-Dade and Broward are in the code's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, which has stricter requirements for roofing products and installation. Products used there typically need a Miami-Dade NOA or a Florida Product Approval, and we give you that number for every product in your quote.
Can a new roof lower my homeowners insurance?
Florida law requires insurers to offer windstorm mitigation discounts. Roof features such as roof-deck attachment and secondary water resistance are items a wind mitigation inspection can document. The size of any discount depends on your insurer and policy, so ask your agent and schedule a wind mitigation inspection after the work is complete.
Are you a licensed roofing contractor?
Yes. Avrax Impact Windows & Doors Corp. is a licensed roofing contractor and a licensed general contractor.
Can I call you for a roof emergency?
Yes. For storm damage or a roof leak that can't wait, call (786) 881-3081, 24/7. On-site response is typically under 4 hours in our service area, depending on crew availability and distance; after major storms it may take longer. The permanent repair or re-roof is scheduled after your estimate. See our Storm Damage Repair page.
